Wake Forest barely beat Wakefield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Wake Forest blew past Wakefield 7-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jil Livengood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Teagan Campbell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Donovan Onorato was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Campbell wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wake Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wakefield only managed one hit.
