Volleyball Recap: Anna Comes Up Short

In Friday's Canine Competition, Anna didn't have enough. They came up short against the McKinney North Bulldogs on Friday, falling 3-0. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-19, 25-7.

McKinney North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Kowallis led the charge by getting 15 assists and four aces. Kowallis has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played. Malia McNeal was another key player, getting 19 assists and four digs.

Anna now has a losing record of 19-20. As for McKinney North, the victory (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 29-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Anna will take on rival Melissa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, McKinney North is set to face off against their familiar foe Denison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
