Basketball Game Preview: Antioch Sequoits vs. Round Lake Panthers

The Antioch Sequoits will head out to square off against the Round Lake Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Antioch will be strutting in after a win while Round Lake will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, Antioch didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lakes, but they still walked away with a 59-55 victory. The win continues a trend for the Sequoits in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

It was another big night for Heidi Rathmann, who posted 24 points. Scarlett Carroll was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Round Lake suffered their closest defeat since December 12, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Grayslake North by a score of 46-43. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Round Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Antioch, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Antioch beat Round Lake 42-34 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Antioch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
