Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Turner). Everything went their way against the Big Foot Chiefs on Friday as they made off with a 19-7 win. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on 16 straight.
Maddy Hoenig was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Emma Bue was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Turner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Turner's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Big Foot, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turner will venture away from home to challenge Union Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
