Basketball Game Preview: South Hills Scorpions vs. Paschal Panthers

The South Hills Scorpions will head out on the road to square off against the Paschal Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Hills and North Side faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. South Hills walked away with a 54-44 victory over North Side. The Scorpions didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Paschal entered their tilt with Polytechnic on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 80-36 victory over the Parrots. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Parrots are ranked 879th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Hills is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-20 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Paschal, their win bumped their record up to 24-7.

South Hills was taken down by Paschal 76-44 in their previous matchup back in January. Can South Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
