The race to finish on top of the national high school football rushing leaderboard ended in a dead heat.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Jalen White of Daleville (Ala.) and Cameron Thomas of Picayune (Miss.) both finished the season with exactly 3,517 yards.

However, White piled up his total in just 11 games while Thomas played in 15.

White posted single-game efforts of 465, 462 and 419 yards. The senior back reached the end zone 48 times.

Thomas helped Picayune achieve a 14-1 record and reach the Class 5A state championship. Despite being just 5-foot-7 and 155 pounds, he carried the ball 40 times for 322 yards and four touchdowns in the Maroon Tide's quarterfinal playoff game.
