Softball Recap: Tri-Valley Has No Trouble Against Halifax

Tri-Valley won the last time they faced Halifax and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Wildcats. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 11 runs or more this season.

Tri-Valley let Olivia Witmer and Cassi Snyder run wild. Witmer went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Snyder scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That home run marked the first that Witmer launched this season. Another player making a difference was Myah Schwalm, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halifax only posted an OBP of .118.

The victory made it two in a row for Tri-Valley and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Halifax, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Tri-Valley is taking a road trip to square off against Marian Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Halifax, they will welcome East Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
