Softball Game Preview: Russellville Cyclones vs. Paris Eagles

The Russellville Cyclones will challenge the Paris Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paris took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Russellville, who comes in off a win.

Russellville took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Alma get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Cyclones haven't had any issues with the Airedales recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Abigail Blythe, who gave up just two hits to keep Alma off the board. Blythe has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Russellville's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addison Crain, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Paris' offense. They came up short against Booneville on Tuesday, falling 14-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Russellville now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Paris, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
