Softball Recap: Warsaw Tigers vs. Mishawaka Cavemen

Warsaw fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mishawaka on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cavemen by a score of 10-9. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Cavemen recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Ellyse Walters made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Lilly Carman was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI.

Warsaw's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Mishawaka, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warsaw will head out to square off against Wawasee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mishawaka, they will venture away from home to challenge Plymouth at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavemen are facing the Pilgrims/Rockies at the right time seeing as the Pilgrims/Rockies are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
