The Danville Blue Devils will challenge the Waterford Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Danville comes in on three and Waterford on six.
Danville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-8 win over Fisher Catholic. The Blue Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Danville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cyren Wallace, who rushed for 115 yards and three scores on only eight carries. Wallace also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making ten total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Another receiver making a difference was Briggs Wallace, who picked up 155 receiving yards and one TD.

Danville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Wesley Payne, Wallace, and Carson Proper picked up one apiece. Proper has become a key player for Danville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one interception, but 4-5 otherwise. The Blue Devils received some extra help from Owen Gronberg, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Waterford took on Strasburg-Franklin on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Tigers, posting a 42-7 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Tigers are ranked 423rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Danville better keep an eye on Hayden Jones. He was instrumental in Waterford's win, rushing for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 46 receiving yards.
Danville's record is now 7-5. As for Waterford, their record now sits at 9-2.
