Softball Recap: Waldron Falls to Mount Ida in First Game of Season

Waldron had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Mount Ida Lions by a score of 7-6. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 15 in a row.

Lauren Shores made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Payton Mahar, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coming up, Waldron will challenge Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. We've got a battle between Lions coming up.
