Softball Recap: New Hope-Solebury Has No Trouble Against Neshaminy

The New Hope-Solebury Lions got the win against the Neshaminy Skins on Thursday by a conclusive 12-5. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Mabel Klossner and Dagny Mobley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Klossner didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Mobley pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Klossner has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Klossner went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Mobley went 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Mobley a new career-high.

In other batting news, Emily Wilson was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Bianca Elizondo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

New Hope-Solebury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

New Hope-Solebury pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Neshaminy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

New Hope-Solebury will square off against Upper Dublin at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Neshaminy, they will face off against Council Rock South at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
