Preview: Carthage Bulldogs vs. Chapel Hill Bulldogs
Carthage is 0-3 against Chapel Hill since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Carthage Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Chapel Hill Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Carthage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1340th, while Chapel Hill is ranked 293rd).
Carthage suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Center at home and fell 81-33. Carthage was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-18.
Meanwhile, Chapel Hill put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 75-41 win over Kilgore. The victory was nothing new for Chapel Hill as they're now sitting on four straight.
Carthage bumped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chapel Hill, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.
Carthage suffered a grim 59-34 defeat to Chapel Hill in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Carthage avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
