Basketball Recap: Middle Park Piles Up the Points Against Lake County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Monte Vista, Middle Park was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 47-12 victory over the Lake County Panthers. Middle Park pushed the score to 35-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Lake County had little chance of recovering from.

Aubree Hanson had a dynamite game for Middle Park, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 steals. Those 21 points gave Hanson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dana Bell, who posted eight points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.

Middle Park's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Lake County, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-2.

Middle Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-37 victory against Battle Mountain on the 19th. As for Lake County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Englewood at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Lake County is facing Englewood at the right time seeing as Englewood is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
