Baseball Game Preview: Canutillo Eagles vs. Chapin Huskies

Canutillo has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chapin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. Canutillo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Canutillo made easy work of Burges and carried off a 7-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Roman Ferniza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Daniel Luna was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ian Melendez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Chapin beat Jefferson 5-2 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Silver Foxes: they've now won four in a row.

Canutillo's victory bumped their record up to 14-6-2. As for Chapin, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.

Canutillo took their victory against Chapin in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 12-6 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
