JSerra Catholic hasn't had much luck against St. John Bosco recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with JSerra Catholic sitting on three straight wins and St. John Bosco on five.

JSerra Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Leuzinger with a 39-35 victory last Friday. With that win, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 26.4 points per game.

JSerra Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gino Wang out in front who threw for 319 yards and four TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. The Lions' leading receiver Clark Cokley was Wang's top target yet again, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, St. John Bosco is ranked highly in their home state and last Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of St. Louis. The Braves simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Crusaders 49-20. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won four games by 29 points or more so far this season.

St. John Bosco found their leader in sophomore Koa Malau'ulu, who threw for 175 yards and four TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Malau'ulu. Another receiver making a difference was DJ Tubbs, who picked up 97 receiving yards and one score.

St. John Bosco didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Josh Holland and JaShaun Shaffer. Holland is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Matthew Muasau was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making six total tackles.

JSerra Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for St. John Bosco, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

JSerra Catholic might still be hurting after the 44-24 defeat they got from St. John Bosco in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Braves' Maliq Allen, who rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.
