Volleyball Recap: Lilliana Gonzales' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dos Palos over Avenal + How To Watch

Dos Palos suffered their biggest loss since September 9th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Avenal Buccaneers, falling 3-0. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dos Palos was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-23, 25-22.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lilliana Gonzales, who had 32 digs. Hailey Portillo was another key player, getting 28 digs and 25 assists.

Avenal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashley Alvarez, who had 18 digs, three aces, and one block. Alvarez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Yasmin Garcilazo, who had 11 digs and four aces.

Dos Palos' defeat dropped their record down to 7-13-1. As for Avenal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11-2.
