Florala hasn't had much luck against Samson recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Florala Wildcats face off against Samson Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Florala is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Florala fell victim to Kinston and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 6-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Samson). They were the clear victor by a 17-9 margin over Cottonwood on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Samson got a massive performance out of Ally Zorn, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Zorn has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Glisson, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5.

Samson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .673. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Samson's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Florala, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Samson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Florala has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Samson, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Florala keep running through batters, or will Samson buck the trend?
