Baseball Recap: Lebanon Comes Up Short

Lebanon fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against South Albany on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redhawks. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redhawks earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Lebanon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Cox, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

Lebanon has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for South Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-14 record this season.

Lebanon will venture away from home to challenge Woodburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for South Albany, they will face off against Silverton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Foxes' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Redhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
