Soccer Game Preview: Dutch Fork vs. Irmo

The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes are taking a road trip to face off against the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Dutch Fork will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating River Bluff, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Silver Foxes who were credited with the victory last Friday. Dutch Fork got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to River Bluff's seven. Winning may never get old, but Dutch Fork sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Max Werner, who's now up to ten this season.

Last Friday, Irmo came up short against Chapin and fell 3-1. Irmo have struggled against Chapin recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Dutch Fork's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Irmo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Dutch Fork took their victory against Irmo in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 5-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silver Foxes since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
