Eustis put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mount Dora Hurricanes a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Eustis got a great performance from Carson Roden as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave Roden a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Brooklyn Powhida was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Covino, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Eustis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Eustis pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.3 runs. As for Mount Dora, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, Eustis will challenge The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (The Villages Charter: 2, Eustis: 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mount Dora, they will square off against Tavares at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tavares is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
