Recap: Central Valley Cougars vs. Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets

The Central Valley Cougars's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 46-29 win over Heartland Lutheran. Heartland Lutheran's loss came despite strong showings from Ema Koch and Aubree Fisket. Koch scored 11 points, while Fisket scored five points along with five steals. Koch continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aryka Keiper, who scored two points along with two steals and two blocks.

As for Heartland Lutheran, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Central Valley will head out on the road to face off against Anselmo-Merna at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Heartland Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Edward at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. St. Edward is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
