Softball Game Preview: Sarcoxie Bears vs. Lockwood Tigers

The Sarcoxie Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Lockwood Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lockwood took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sarcoxie, who comes in off a win.

While Sarcoxie's win against Jasper wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears skirted past the Eagles 11-10.

Meanwhile, Lockwood faced Miller in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 10-3 to the Cardinals.

Lockwood saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kallie Griffin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Reese Whitesell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Sarcoxie's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Lockwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
