Basketball Game Preview: Logan Wildcats vs. Shady Spring Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Logan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.

Logan is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Wheeling Central Catholic, who was ranked 11th at the time (Logan was ranked 20th). Logan took an 85-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wheeling Central Catholic on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Shady Spring had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with an 80-69 win over Princeton.

Shady Spring pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Logan, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Logan was taken down by Shady Spring 71-43 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Logan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
