Basketball Game Preview: Palmer Bulldogs vs. Grandview Zebras

Palmer hasn't had much luck against Grandview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Palmer Bulldogs will challenge the Grandview Zebras at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Palmer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to Keene. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 994th, while the Chargers are ranked 417th).

Meanwhile, Grandview had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.1 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They breezed by the Bulldogs to the tune of 61-14. The Zebras have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Grandview pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Palmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Palmer was taken down by Grandview 65-20 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Palmer was down 35-10.
