Basketball Recap: Mt. Clemens Comes Up Short

Mt. Clemens lost against Mumford back in December of 2014, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers had to suffer through a 62-18 loss at the hands of the Mumford Mustangs. The Battling Bathers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Mt. Clemens' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Williams, who posted six points. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 16 games she's played.

Mt. Clemens has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. The win snapped Mumford's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-8 record.

Looking ahead, Mt. Clemens will face off against Michigan Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mumford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
