Softball Recap: Fulton Pirates vs. Montabella Mustangs
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Fulton and Montabella meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Pirates fell 16-13 to the Mustangs. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly three runs.
Dayten Lambert was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Hnetynka, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Fulton has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Montabella, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Coming up, Fulton will head out to face off against Vestaburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
