Payton Roberts looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Millard West's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colton Williams, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Millard West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Papillion-LaVista South started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Fremont. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 5-0 in the first period.
Papillion-LaVista South also got a good showing from Grayson Wallace, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
On the hitting side, Cordell Clinkingbeard was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Emmett Minderman was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Papillion-LaVista South's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Millard West, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
