West Davidson won the last time they faced Salisbury and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dragons blew past the Hornets 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mahala Darnell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Darnell was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, West Davidson got a massive performance out of Abigail Leonard, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Leonard a new career-high. Gracie Michael was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

West Davidson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

West Davidson pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Salisbury, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.
