Basketball Recap: Cloverdale Eagles vs. Willits Wolverines
Cloverdale took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Willits Wolverines 69-34. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 26 point advantage.
Cloverdale was led to victory by Jesus Arizmendi and Jaxson Randolph. Arizmendi went 11 for 19 on his way to 24 points and five assists, while Randolph went 10 of 18 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Casyn Kamondy, who posted seven points and five rebounds.
Willits lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Damian Reiter, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Jayden Schlegel was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Cloverdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-50 loss against Point Arena on the 5th. As for Willits, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-44 defeat against Round Valley on the 4th.
