Preview: Catasauqua Rough Riders vs. Pen Argyl Green Knights
The Catasauqua Rough Riders the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Pen Argyl Green Knights at 6:45 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Catasauqua is ranked 617th, while Pen Argyl is ranked 635th).
Catasauqua suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-30 walloping at the hands of Saucon Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Catasauqua has scored all season.
Even though Pen Argyl has not done well against Salisbury Township recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Pen Argyl had just enough and edged Salisbury Township out 20-18. The victory was just what Pen Argyl needed coming off of a 66-34 loss in their prior game.
Pen Argyl's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Mclaughlin, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Martini, who scored nine points.
Catasauqua's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pen Argyl, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12.
