Basketball Game Preview: North Pocono Trojans vs. Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns

The North Pocono Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. North Pocono will be strutting in after a win while Wallenpaupack Area will be coming in after a loss.

North Pocono is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against West Scranton on Monday as North Pocono made off with a 68-47 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted since December 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, Wallenpaupack Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scranton. While losing is never fun, the Buckhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Knights are ranked 73rd).

The victory snapped North Pocono's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Wallenpaupack Area, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

North Pocono came up short against Wallenpaupack Area in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 57-46. Can North Pocono avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
