Baseball Game Preview: Compton Early College Rising Phoenix vs. Compton Tarbabes

The Compton Early College Rising Phoenix will be taking part in a tournament against the Compton Tarbabes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

After dropping their season opener at home, Compton is headed out to face a Rising Phoenix team ready to give their home crowd a win. Compton Early College lost 17-2 to Centennial on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Compton posted their biggest win since April 6, 2024 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Centennial as Compton made off with a 10-4 victory. The Tarbabes have beaten the Apaches the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Apaches has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Eric Vera, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Lucio Catal?n was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Compton Early College might still be hurting after the 16-2 defeat they got from Compton when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Compton Early College avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
