Preview: Mancos Bluejays vs. Del Norte Tigers
The Mancos Bluejays will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Del Norte Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. Del Norte took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mancos, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Mancos made easy work of Ignacio and carried off a 67-42 win.
Among those leading the charge was Brian Veach, who scored 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Mancos' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Wyatt, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Del Norte, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-25 loss to Ignacio on Saturday. Del Norte has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Del Norte struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Mancos pushed their record up to 2-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Del Norte, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Mancos have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Del Norte struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 24 rebounds per game.
