The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks will square off against the Elkhorn South Storm at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lincoln Southwest comes in on ten and Elkhorn South on three.

Lincoln Southwest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Silver Hawks who were credited with the victory. Lincoln Southwest got it done in the shootout by posting one goals to Papillion-LaVista's zero.

Elkhorn South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Kearney, who was ranked eighth at the time (Elkhorn South was ranked 11th). The Storm's defense stepped up to hand the Bearcats a 2-0 shutout on Monday. That's two games straight that Elkhorn South have won by exactly two goals.

Elkhorn South's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Lincoln Southwest, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.

Lincoln Southwest beat Elkhorn South 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silver Hawks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
