Football Recap: Steele Canyon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Steele Canyon and Santa Fe Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Steele Canyon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 44-41.

When it comes to explaining why Steele Canyon lost, don't look at Gavin Caha. Despite the final result, he threw for 272 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 43 yards and one TD. Abel Lopez was in the mix too, providing the Cougars with two scores.

Dax Labrum produced another solid performance throwing for 268 yards and five TDs, while also rushing for 42 yards for Santa Fe Christian. That's the most passing yards Labrum has posted since back in August. Santa Fe Christian's leading receiver Chase Woolley was Labrum's top target yet again, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Steele Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Santa Fe Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Steele Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Fe Christian, they will square off against Rio Hondo Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Kares have averaged an impressive 33.5 points per game this season.
