Baseball Recap: Whiting Comes Up Short

Whiting lost against Hobart back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Oilers came up short against the Brickies, falling 12-1.

Whiting saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Cruz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Jaiden Nunez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Whiting's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Hobart, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Whiting will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wheeler at 5:00 p.m. As for Hobart, they will square off against Valparaiso at 5:00 p.m. on the 30th.
