It was a good run, but the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Battle Mountain, falling 60-26. Vail Mountain was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Christian Mills was Vail Mountain's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Vail Mountain's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for Battle Mountain, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vail Mountain's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hayden at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Hayden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday. As for Battle Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Fruita Monument at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
