Recap: Willapa Valley Vikings vs. Mossyrock Vikings
The Willapa Valley Vikings suffered their closest loss yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Mossyrock by a score of 50-48. Willapa Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mossyrock apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Willapa Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Keeton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Keeton also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Nathan Fluke, who scored nine points.
Willapa Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Mossyrock, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willapa Valley will take on Three Rivers Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Three Rivers Christian is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Mossyrock, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Washington School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Washington School for the Deaf focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Saturday.
