Basketball Recap: Rossville Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rossville Christian Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Simpson Academy Cougars by a score of 85-82 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-38 last Friday.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Fred Motley, who went 9-for-14 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. The dominant performance gave Motley a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Seth Williams, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 19 points.

Rossville Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 21-13. As for Simpson Academy, their win bumped their record up to 24-3.

Rossville Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Simpson Academy, they will challenge Greenville Christian at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Simpson Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Greenville Christian likes a good challenge.
