After a string of ten wins, Bradford's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newberry Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornadoes of the 52-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2021.

Bradford's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Newberry, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Bradford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 42-38 defeat against Oakleaf on the 18th. As for Newberry, they will head out on the road to take on West Port at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Port is on a three-game streak of home wins, Newberry a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
