Wayne has gone 9-1 against Midlakes recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Screaming Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Wayne is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Wayne's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Waterloo 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Benjamin Smith, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Waterloo off the board. Smith has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Midlakes earned a 6-2 victory over Mynderse Academy on Wednesday.
Ayden Klapp made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jake Deckert was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Zach Donk was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Wayne's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Midlakes, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wayne has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Midlakes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Wayne's way against Midlakes in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Wayne made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Screaming Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
