Baseball Recap: Danbury Takes a Loss

Lakota hit Danbury with a five-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lakers lost 11-5 to the Raiders. The loss continues a trend for the Lakers in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost eight in a row.

Logan Lucas was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs. Danbury is 3-1 when Lucas posts two or more runs, but 4-16 otherwise.

In other batting news, Danny Carroll was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Danbury's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Lakota, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-11.
