Basketball Recap: Hardin-Central Takes a Loss

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Hardin-Central didn't have enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 1-0 to the Sweet Springs Greyhounds. The game marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Despite the loss, Hardin-Central still got an impressive performance from Ester Kincaid, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 steals. Kincaid is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Lyon, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Hardin-Central's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Sweet Springs, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Hardin-Central is taking a road trip to face off against Keytesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hardin-Central is facing Keytesville at the right time seeing as Keytesville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sweet Springs, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-30 defeat against Orrick on the 13th.
