Softball Recap: Graham-Kapowsin Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

While Graham-Kapowsin put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Bethel. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Bison. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Jessika Jennings made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Izzy Vargas was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Makayla Young also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Graham-Kapowsin is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Bethel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Graham-Kapowsin will face off against Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Sentinels at the right time seeing as the Sentinels are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Bethel, they will challenge Olympia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
