Basketball Recap: Walt Whitman's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Walt Whitman entered their match against William Floyd on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Walt Whitman Wildcats fell 71-60 to the William Floyd Colonials. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-51 back in December of 2024.

Walt Whitman's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4. As for William Floyd, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Walt Whitman will welcome Patchogue-Medford at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd. As for William Floyd, they will take on Mount Sinai at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
