Eatonville has gone a perfect 4-0 against Franklin Pierce recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cruisers will head out to challenge the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Eatonville will be strutting in after a win while Franklin Pierce will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, Eatonville got the win against Clover Park by a conclusive 19-5. The Cruisers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 13 runs or more this season.
Eatonville got a massive performance out of Aubree Mills, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Mills has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Twedt, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Eatonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 23 runs the game before, Franklin Pierce was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They lost 11-1 to Cascade Christian. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Kiley Sledge was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
The victory made it two in a row for Eatonville and bumps their season record up to 5-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.0 runs over those games. As for Franklin Pierce, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eatonville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .509. However, it's not like Franklin Pierce struggles in that department as they've averaged .553. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Eatonville's way against Franklin Pierce in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, as Eatonville made off with a 20-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cruisers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
