Basketball Recap: Prospect Piles Up the Points Against Hoffman Estates

Prospect had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 73-18 victory over the Hoffman Estates Hawks. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-15.

Prospect was led to victory by Angelina Falls and Allison Linke. Falls went 5 for 6 on her way to 14 points, while Linke posted nine points in addition to five assists and five steals. Falls continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Carroll, who put up 14 points.

Prospect smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Prospect's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Hoffman Estates, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-23.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prospect will welcome Stevenson at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Prospect has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
