Recap: Rockwell Marshals vs. American Prep WV Eagles
It was a good run, but the Rockwell Marshals unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 88-61 defeat at the hands of American Prep WV. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Marshals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Roman Haueter, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Haueter has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Kaysen Rife was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds.
American Prep WV's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Komy Ocwor, who scored 30 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Ocwor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Hakim, who dropped a triple-double on 22 points, ten rebounds, and 13 assists.
Rockwell's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for American Prep WV, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockwell will take on Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Milford is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.1 points per game. As for American Prep WV, they will head out on the road to face off against Merit Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
