Softball Recap: Waskom Wins Going Away Against Colmesneil

Waskom had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Colmesneil on Saturday. The Waskom Wildcats blew past the Colmesneil Bulldogs 10-1. The Wildcats not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 10th.

Waskom got a massive performance out of Jada Spencer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Spencer is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chyanne Haines, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Waskom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Waskom back to even at 5-5. As for Colmesneil, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Waskom Wildcats duke it out with Union Grove Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waskom will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Colmesneil, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-5 loss against Chester on the 3rd.
